As a Buddhist practitioner I am aware that choices about how and where I live make a huge difference to my experience of life.
When we go on retreat we go into conditions that support not only our practice of meditation but other aspects of practice such as friendship, stillness and a relationship with nature.
Some people in the Buddhist Community I am part of (Triratna) choose to live to together in communities for these same reasons. Someone recently shared a link on our international website that shows life in one of the men’s communities that is housed in the London Buddhist Centre. I thought I’d share it with you as I think it captures a nice sense of how one’s daily life conditions have a strong impact on our experience.

I encourage each one of us to work mindfully with the conditions of our own lives to set up conditions that are conducive to meditative practice. These can just be simple adjustments such as having the TV on less habitually, creating tidiness and lack of clutter and being mindful of others sharing our living space.
I hope you may be able to join us for meditation this week:
Thursday 7 – 8.30 (Buddha Riff after meditation – our place of abode and it’s affect on our mind)
Sunday 8 – 8.50
With metta
Dharmalata and Padmadakini
